AMAC/CPI and Toshiba both won the bids to separately build three high RF power input coupler prototypes for SNS in a strong international competition. AMAC¨s prototypes have been tested up to 2.0MW peak power at 804 MHz and proved to meet all SNS specifications.

AMAC¨s window-coupler during high RF power (2.0MW) testing at DOE Jefferson Lab
High RF Power Waveguide Coupler for DOE¨s Free Electron Laser Project (FEL)
Two innovative RF power wave-guide windows using the compression ring & internal cooling technologies designed and constructed by AMAC. AMAC is in the process of obtaining a patent for these new technologies. The RF performances of five design-options were optimized and two were fabricated and successfully high power tested at 35-kW CW RF Power (Mix. Power available at Jefferson Lab in 2000).
