¡¡¡¡Two High RF Power prototype waveguide windows were constructed and designed using the novel compression ring and internal cooling jacket. A stainless steel to copper laser welding was used for the final vacuum seal. Five optional window designs were estimated, one design was fabricated, cold tested, and high power tested (35kW). The temperature increase of AMAC¡¯s window is less than one half of other conventional windows tested at the same facility with the same power. Our calculations of the interference fit indicated that the ceramic window was under 15,000 psi compression at room temperatures. |
