AMAC Won a Contract to Design & Manufacture the First DOE RIA High RF Coupler
February, 2003
¡¡¡¡ NEWPORT NEWS, VA. -- The RIA project is on DOE's top priority list for their Nuclear Physics Division. Michigan State University is in charge of providing two prototype cryomodules with complete superconducting cavitites and high RF power input couplers. The University highly values AMAC¡¯s coupler design and deliverables for the DOE SNS project. Based on AMAC¡¯s successful track record, MSU awarded AMAC a contract in February 2003 to design and construct two High RF power Coupler prototype systems. AMAC has completed the design work and will provide the hardware to MSU after CPI manufactures the two prototypes and they are High RF power tested at Jefferson Lab. They are scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2003.
