AMAC International Inc.

¡¡¡¡AMAC has delivered numerous novel prototype products to Institutes, Universities, Natioanal Lab, also licensed sevral patents and technologies to other large campanies.
¡¡¡¡Based on AMAC's excellent accomplishments in Research & Development of Superconducting RF Power Technologies, SQUID based NDT, Magnetic Levitation and Cryogenics in space, AMAC has been awarded more than $3,500,000 of innovative research grants from the US Department of Energy (DOE) and National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA). AMAC's other R&D interests include: applications of nanotubes and shape memory alloys.

¡¡Dr. Quan-Sheng Shu
¡¡¡¡President of AMAC International is an expert in Cryogenics, SRF cavities and Superconducting magnets. He is currently a Board Member for the International Institute of Refrigeration, Sub-Program Chairman of the US Applied Superconductivity Conference, and the Chief Editor of Advances in Cryogenic Engineering vol. 45. He has also published six books and more than 100 papers on cryogenics and superconductivity.

Dr. Shu and Prof. Zhao-zhong Ding at Professor D. Y. Wu's 90th Birthday Ceremony, in Taiwan 1997.

Dr. Shu and Prof. John Bardeen (Nobel Prize Winner for BCS Theory) at LT-17 in Heidelberg, Germany, 1984.

¡°Advances in Cryogenic Engineering¡± Vol. 45, which can be found in the US Congress Library.
Dr. Shu is the Chief Editor.

  • The virginia State Government Granted AMAC an "Outstanding Achievement Award" for developing a High RF Input Power Window Project for DOE in 2001.
AMAC has developed a novel window technology (better vacuum, less electron Multipacting, and less thermal stress) that is more advanced than previous window designs.
  • AMAC has been developing a reliable, low cost, high power input coupler for TESLA project, which is led by DESY in Germany.
An "Outstanding Achievement Award" was granted by the Virginia State Government to AMAC for developing the High RF Power Coupler Project for DOE in 2002.
  • AMAC has investigated and demonstrated for the first time in the world an innovative Energy Efficient Cryogenic Transfer Line wiht Magnetic Suspension for NASA's cryogenic systems. This innovative technology offers the potential advantage of extending missions, saving cryogens, and reducing the overal launch mass to a space shuttle.
An "Outstanding Achievement Award" was granted by Virginia State Government to AMAC for its excellent performance in the Magnetic Levitation Cryogenic Transfer-lines Project for NASA in 2002.
